Who are the best Texas Energy Companies? (Nov 2025)
The Best Texas Electricity Companies are Gexa, Payless Power, Constellation, 4Change Energy, and APG&E Our analysis include PUC Texas scorecard complaint data, customer reviews from Texas Electricity Ratings, Better Business Bureau ratings and Google Reviews.
Before we start, an important note:
*Important note about PUCT Scorecard Complaint Data:
PUC of Texas scorecard complaint data is inherently flawed as it is a measure of total complaints lodged against a company in a rolling 6 month period. It does not reflect if those complaints were justified or resolved.
Per the Texas PUC: "The complaint score is based on a rolling 6-month average of the total number of informal complaints investigated, irrespective of whether or not the company was determined to be at fault or adequately resolved the customer's complaint" It simply is a count of complaints.
As an example: A retailer could get a complaint for a power outage related to a hurricane or storm. That complaint would affect their score. Regardless of the cause or fault.
